Appearance/what it's made of
The brain is made of certain nerve cells (bulb like cell body attached to long nerve fibers, like wire. that carries very tiny electrical signals -the info that tells us what we feel, think, see, touch, ,move and function.
.weight-about 3 pounds
.about 75% water
.about 100 billion neurons
.1000 to 10000 synapses for each neuron
.100000 miles of blood vessels in your brain

.about 60% fat

making decisions in a tricky situation
When you're making a decision your brain is auguring about what to do
prefrontal cortex  (makes the decisions)
emotional areas of your brain : amygdale
when your brain is making decisions the amygdale automatically turns on and creates feelings such as fear, anxiety
then the prefrontal cortex thinks through those feelings
as an example a while back captain soldenburger was driving his plane and it began to break down he has very scared and frustrated but he thought that fear won't do anything to help him so he stayed calm and thought about what he was doing he decided to land on the water. no one was hurt everyone landed safely.

facts
.your brain is the most energy consuming part of your body
.your brain consumes 25 watts of power while your awake. this amount of energy is enough to illuminate a light bulb
.750ml of blood pumps through your brain every minute which is 15-20% of blood flow from the heart
your brain stays alive about 7 minutes after you die

problems we had with  our project                                                                                                            we wanted our project to be about how the brain makes decisions. there wasn't a lot on just making decisions all we could find was the brain uses the prefontal cortex to make decisions. and that obviously isn't enough to write about for our whole project so we just made our project on random facts about the brain.

Day 1
-we started brainstorming ideas and figuring out our topic
Day 2
-decided who does what (split up tasks)
Day 3
-started research
Day 4-6
 research
Day 7
-compared research
Day 8
-finalized project put together poster

reflections
brainstorming 9/10 i gave us 9/10 because we did our brainstorming but we didn't write a whole lot for it.
proposal 10/10 i gave us 10/10 because we wrote a lot for it and followed all the criteria
conference/10 i gave us 8/10 because we didnt really explain or change a whole lot in our conference
process 10/10 i gave us 10/10 because we showed all our process
peer review-didn't do one
presentation 9/10 i gave us 9/10 for our presentation because i think we did really well on it it was in the time range placed all our facts down and also kept audiences attention at the end with the video and quiz but we did read off our paper a lot so that wasn't very good.
reflections
in class work habits 8.5/10 i gave us 8.5/10 because we did a bit in class but most of our work at home
