December 4 Learning Blog Post (by Maiya)

What Did We Do?
Today in humanities, We talked about what we did well on our blog posts from Tuesday and what we could improve on. For example we should be specific about what we did we shouldn't say we have homework. We should say we have to finish our lit circle discussions for Monday November 17. We also talked about what we did well on our Tuesday blog posts like our tips and what was due when and how there where headings. We also talked about our innovative ideas and how even if there are pictures of your idea/your invention it doesn't mean that the picture is the same thing you were going to make. Then Ms. Lees taught us how to do outlines for our writing and we worked on a work sheet for the whole second block.

Why?
We talked about how we did on our blog posts so we can improve and add on to them and so other people can do a good blog post and don't make the same mistake as the first people. We talked about innovative ideas because some people were stuck and some other people thought that lots of ideas were taken up because there were pictures of them on the internet and they thought they couldn't do the idea, when really they could or if the idea was actually taken they could add onto it. We talked about some ideas like how you could improve an every day object like a binder or coat. For example you could create a wifi charger in your coat or maybe a pocket that hides your phone in class so the teacher doesn't see it. We talked about writing outlines because we didn't know what they were and there're a basic writing skill. I learned that using an outline for writing essays would be faster and quicker to write an essay because your ideas would already be there and you just would have to expand on them. We worked on the outline worksheet so we could practice outlining and so we didn't have as much homework.

Reflections And Connections
When we talked about blog post we could use that outside humanities by doing that on our personal blogs. For our innovation projects the teachers want us to make a cool project and all but I think the main focus is to learn how to be innovative. When we learned about writing outlining we could use that outside of humanities when we have to write things in other classes like maybe lab reports is science. Or submit a piece of writing into a contest.
