Maiya's Volleyball Jingle

Are you ready with your runners?
Is your hair tied in a bow?
You better have your water bottle-
be ready to go, go, go!

Bump! Set! Serve! Spike!
It's a wonder marvelous game.
Learn, improve, dive and move,
with volleyball there's no shame!

Strive in your educational classes,
ask your parents to drive
and when it comes to practices, on time you must arrive!

An attitude of gratitude is what we're going for.
Respect your coach,
thank the ump,
encourage your teammates
and don't be a grump!

So come out for volleyball
and give a big cheer
because Fraser Heights Firehawks are the team of the year!

  1. Wow! Great job Maiya! You really did a good job of capturing how great volleyball can be. You did it in a creative way too.
I love the beginning. I liked it because you used a lot of expression.
    I'm guessing you did option number 3 :) .

  2. Hi Maiya
I really enjoy this volleyball jingle. Its was very catchy and i likes how most of the second lines and the last lines rhymed!
I also liked how how you spaced out each verse like real song lyrics.
It was really good how at the very end you represented Fraser Heights volleyball team, it was a good rhyme and good team spirit!
But over all this was a great jingle!

  5. Wow! Great job Maiya! You really did a good job of capturing the aspects and skills of volleyball in a very cheerful song.
My favourite part was probably when you said "Bump! Set! Serve! Spike! It's a wonder marvelous game. Learn, improve, dive and move, with volleyball there's no shame". I like that part because it describes the main fundamentals of volleyball, and it tells people that it doesn't matter if you mess up your just there to get better. Like i always say you won't get better unless you try!
Over the last couple of years i noticed that you are one of the most creative people i know, so keep it up :) .

    1. Anthony, what lovely feedback you gave Maiya. It was specific and very complementary. She did do a wonderful job playing with the "jingle" or poetry form for this task and I liked how you pointed out the parts you thought were the most effective and why. To conclude with a comment about enjoying her creativity and growth over the last few years is very flattering. I am sure she appreciated your compliments and support. Well done Anthony for your first comments!

  6. Hi Maiya, Thanks for being one of the few to take up the creative jingle challenge. Variety makes reading the posts so much more interesting and I hope you enjoyed your first post assignment. I am curious about your process a bit more. Did you choose a tune or song to write your jingle to and if you did, which was it? If you did not, why not? (I noticed you didn't take up the singing part of the challenge - that is ok. It was gutsy enough to write it for your first post :) Looking forward to reading more of your creative works this year.

  8. Ms.lees, to answer your question, I didn't choose a song/tune because I didn't really think about it (my jingle) in that way so when I say my jingle I just say it to a rhythm♪! Next time I writ a jingle I'll sing it for you! (although you'll have to excuse my horrible sining voice!☺)
